Matt Germain

Matt Germain grew up in Central NY where he attended Tully HS in Onondaga County.  Matt was a two time All-League midfielder at Tully. As a senior he finished 3rd in scoring in the OHSL South Division and was named to the Section 3 East West All-Star game. Coach Germain played lacrosse at LeMoyne College where he was an All-Empire League selection at midfield and helped lead LeMoyne to a league title

In 2022, Matt was named Head Coach for the South Glens Falls varsity lacrosse team.  Coach Germain led the Bulldogs to a 15-1 record, finishing the season ranked #11 in New York State Class C.  Germain's Bulldogs repeated as Foothills Conference Champs with a 12-0 league record, and then made a return trip to the Section 2 Class C Championship game.  Under Germain the Bulldogs scored 238 goals, averaging 14.9 goals per-game and a defense that allowed only 5.8 goals per-game.

In 2020, Matt was named Assistant Coach for the South Glens Falls varsity lacrosse team.  In 2021, Coach Germain helped guide the South High Bulldogs to their first ever Foothills Conference League title finishing 10-0.  From there he helped lead the Bulldogs to win the 2021 Section 2 Class C Championship game, finishing the season 12-1.  Germain coordinated the Bulldog offense and man-up units where the Bulldogs scored 216 goals averaging 16.6 goals per game.

Germain began his coaching career as an assistant coach with the University of Colorado MCLA lacrosse team. Germain oversaw the attack and midfield units, and during his time with Colorado they played for a Rocky Mountain Lacrosse Conference championship.

Matt also has extensive experience at the youth level.  He's been instrumental in building the South Glens Falls lacrosse program over the past 15 years, coaching teams at grades K-8 as well as having coached with several area club teams.

Matt graduated from LeMoyne College with a BA in History.
